INTERN CORNER: HANNAH GLASS

I was born and raised on the banks of a river in the Deep South. For the majority of my life, all I have known is the bubble that I was born into. So when I decided to move over 600 miles away from everyone and everything I know, it was a bit of a leap. Now, almost 2 and a half months later, I cannot believe I ever questioned this opportunity.

As a rising college senior at the University of Georgia (the best university in the nation), I knew that I wanted to explore the professional world before I was fully graduated and out in the “real world”. I applied all over the country, but when PBS called me I knew I had to go there. Like most kids, I grew up watching PBS and even now as a college student, I love to sit down with a good MASTERPIECE drama or stream a GREAT PERFORMANCES broadcast. It’s a window to another world and it is unlike anything that is found on other channels and streaming sites. Immediately, I said yes and took a leap of faith into the great unknown. And I got really lucky – my parachute worked and I landed in an incredible job and city.
