Election night update Nov 6 and We'll Meet Again start date change
    by: Shawn Halford

Election night coverage 8pm ET - 12am on November 6 / We'll Meet Again schedule change

PBS will clear the decks in primetime on Tuesday, November 6 to provide full primetime coverage and analysis of the midterm election results.  In addition to fresh PBS NEWSHOUR editions at the regular feed times of 6:00 PM ET (HD03) and 7:00 PM ET (HD01), we will offer a PBS NEWSHOUR election night special from 8:00 PM ET through at least 12:00 AM ET, and possibly much later, depending on the news and availability of election results as the night progresses.  PBS NEWSHOUR will make a news judgment about when to end coverage when there is no more news story to tell late on election night, but in no event will the coverage end before 12:00 AM ET.

More details on election night coverage will emerge, including the possibilities of local opt-out points for local, regional, or state results.

The live election night coverage will have an effect on WE'LL MEET AGAIN season 2, which PBS will delay to begin on Tuesday, November 13.  WE'LL MEET AGAIN episode 201 will premiere November 13, and episode 202 will premiere November 20.  With a few weeks of repeat episodes in intervening weeks while stations pledge, new WE'LL MEET AGAIN episodes will return in mid December and continue into January.

On October 30 at 8:00 PM, the PBS schedule will have a slot to fill.  Look for a message shortly about what program will fill that slot.
