HI Michael,
Thanks for sending these questions. Here is some more information from my Business Intelligence colleagues who work more closely with MRI data.
The Passport audience is compared to the Average U.S. Adult 18+ population.
Men make up 49% of the general population but only 43% of PBS Passport viewers. Index of 89 means men are 11% less likely than average to be PBS Passport viewers.
Women make up 51% of the general population but 57% of PBS Passport viewers. Index of 110 means women are 10% more likely than average to be PBS Passport viewers.

Thanks for providing this, Dylan. I've not been able to locate an explanation of the methodology used for this report, but I am assuming that, as part of a larger study, Passports users were compared to the larger population. Passport users represented 3% of the larger sample and the indices are what are being presented in the charts, not raw percentages. Can we assume that the percentages included represent the Passport sample and the full sample can be calculated using the percentages? Please confirm my assumptions are correct.
Thank you,
Michael

One other resource I wanted to share is the latest MRI Simmons Passport profile. There is some generalized demographic info in this report that may be useful. See the attached.

Agree with Dylan - the way to get any demographic info for Passport folks is to connect the VPPA (Passport) data to your donor CRM. Any Passport user needs to have a membership, right?
In practice, I've typically been able to match about 97% or so of our VPPA file back to their respective donor record in our CRM, using email as the field on which to join the two data sources (though I'm sure you could also use membership ID; either way you'll likely have some duplicates). That said, our CRM is pretty lacking in demographic info; we have ages for a good chunk of donors, but other info such as gender is less available.
Good luck!
