This consolidated knowledge base combines the most frequently asked questions, recurring support topics, and key lessons learned from community discussions:

    Getting Started

Q: What is Domo used for?

A: Domo provides stations with analytics on streaming, users, sessions, LearningMedia, Passport, and other PBS digital products.

Q: What resources are available for new users?

A: Use the Getting Started guides, step-by-step analysis guides, dashboard notes, and training materials shared through PBS Business Intelligence.

    Streaming Metrics & Reporting

Q: What is the difference between Streams and Users?

A: Streams measure video plays or viewing activity. Users measure unique individuals who visited a PBS website or app during the reporting period.

Q: What is the difference between PBS KIDS Local Streaming Overview and Local Streaming Users?

A: The Overview dashboard reports streams/video plays, while the Users dashboard reports unique visitors.

Q: Why do my GA4 numbers look much higher than the old UA reports?

A: Many discrepancies occur when comparing different metrics, such as livestream-only reporting versus livestream plus on-demand reporting.

Q: Are GA4 and UA metrics directly comparable?

A: Not always. Definitions, tracking methodologies, and reporting structures differ.

Q: Are Local Analytics dashboards station-specific or national?

A: Local Analytics dashboards generally report data localized to your station.

Q: What counts as a stream?

A: Definitions vary by platform and content type, but generally a stream represents a video play event.

Q: How can I compare my station against others?

A: Use the comparative dashboards specifically designed for benchmarking stations.

    PBS KIDS Analytics

Q: Can I filter PBS KIDS reporting by individual game?

A: Not currently. Reporting is available at the games-app level rather than by individual game.

Q: Are PBS KIDS Roku users included?

A: Yes. PBS KIDS Roku reporting was added beginning with April 2026 data.

Q: How are PBS KIDS users defined?

A: Users are unique individuals who visited PBS KIDS websites or apps during the reporting period.

    Dashboards & Filters

Q: What filters are available in streaming dashboards?

A: Filters may include program, video type, platform, device, and video player.

Q: Can I filter specifically for clips?

A: Yes. Use the Video Type filter.

Q: Can I isolate streams from my station's local player?

A: Yes. Use the Video Player filter and select Local Player.

    Local Programs & Content

Q: Why is my local program missing from reporting?

A: Local-program identification depends on Media Manager metadata and station identifiers.

Q: How are local programs identified?

A: Typically through station call letters and metadata fields associated with the content.

Q: Can I estimate national streams for a local program?

A: Use comparison reports and aggregate station-level stream counts.

Q: Can I access historical data for expired programs?

A: Availability depends on the reporting source and retained data history.

    LearningMedia

Q: Do LearningMedia user counts represent visits to my local site?

A: Yes. LearningMedia automatically localizes users to station-branded sites.

Q: Why are LearningMedia counts higher than expected?

A: National PBS promotion drives traffic that is automatically localized.

Q: Do reports include student pages?

A: Yes. Student-focused content is included in overall reporting.

Q: Can stations customize LearningMedia experiences?

A: Stations can add approved local messaging and promotional content.

    Platform Coverage

Q: Is DirecTV data included in Domo?

A: No. DirecTV distributes data directly to stations.

Q: What new platforms have recently been added?

A: Recent additions include General Audience LG TV reporting and PBS KIDS Roku reporting.

    Privacy & Geographic Reporting

    Q: Will geographic reporting return?

A: There are currently no plans to restore geography reporting due to privacy requirements.

Q: How was geography determined in older reports?

A: Older reports relied on IP-address-derived location information.
